Choosing a model

Which Mitsubishi Electric unit is right for you?

AY and AP

Mid-range M Series wall units with MELCloud Wi-Fi built in. We fitted two 7kW AP split systems for a home in Fawkham.

Floor console (MFZ)

Sits low on the wall, often where a radiator was. A good fit for loft rooms with sloping ceilings.

Mr Slim

The commercial range: PKA wall units, PLA and SLZ cassettes, and PEAD ducted units for offices, shops and restaurants.

Mitsubishi Electric's home wall units carry the MSZ model prefix, from the AP and AY to the Zen. Many have MELCloud Wi-Fi built in, so you can control them from your phone, set a weekly timer and check the room temperature when you are out.

Easy to mix up

Mitsubishi Electric vs Mitsubishi Heavy Industries

They are two separate companies with their own ranges, controllers and parts. A Mitsubishi Electric remote will not run a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries unit, and the spares are different. Check the label on the unit to see which you have.

We fit and service both. For Mitsubishi Heavy Industries we have fitted a 12kW multi-split serving six wall units, plus a 7kW kitchen system, for a home in Welling, a 3.5kW wall unit with Wi-Fi in Longfield and a 5kW system for a café in Longfield.

Aftercare

Mitsubishi Electric servicing, repairs and warranty

Mitsubishi Electric's warranty terms include registration timelines and yearly servicing. We service the system every year, keep the record and remind you when it is due.

We also service and repair Mitsubishi Electric units fitted by others. Our own job posts include an evening service on two Zen units we had fitted the year before.

Book a service or a repair, or read about heat pump servicing before winter.

10/10 Checkatrade
Olly and Andy came to install Mitsubishi HI a 7kw and a 12kw multi-split units. Not a small job as we had 7 indoor units to hang and lots of awkward trunking /pipe runs in eves and suffixes. All in all, a very friendly and professionally installation. I am especially impressed with Olly who is very careful with the work and has a keen eye for detail - a part I highly recommend. Olly and Andy came with shoe protectors, dust sheets and mobile vacuums, keeping all things tidy and clean at all times. Not pushy and very accomodating with all our requirements. Highly recommended!

Questions

Questions for a Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning installer

Are Mitsubishi Electric air conditioners good?

Yes. Mitsubishi Electric is a Japanese maker with a long record in quiet, reliable heat-and-cool systems, and its M Series wall units run at very low indoor noise levels. Whether it is right for you depends on the room and the look you want, so we compare current models at the survey.

Is there an app for Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning?

Yes, MELCloud. Many current wall units have it built in, and others take an adaptor. It lets you switch the system on or off, change the mode and temperature, and set schedules from your phone. We connect it to your Wi-Fi and show you how to use it at handover.

Is Mitsubishi Electric the same as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries?

No. They are separate companies that both make air conditioning, with different ranges, controllers and parts. Both make good systems. We fit and service both, so tell us which name is on your unit's label when you book a service or repair.

How long is the warranty on a Mitsubishi Electric system?

Mitsubishi Electric sets its own terms. The length depends on the product, the installer's status with Mitsubishi Electric and registering the system on time, and yearly servicing is a condition. We tell you the exact warranty that applies to the model in your quote, in writing.

Do you service Mitsubishi Electric units you did not fit?

Yes, whoever fitted them. Send a photo of the label on the indoor unit so we know the model. If it is not cooling, heating or is showing a fault, our air conditioning repairs page explains what we check.
