Air conditioning in Sevenoaks
Air conditioning installation in Sevenoaks, one room or the whole house
Apex fits heat-and-cool air conditioning in Sevenoaks homes, from a single split in a bedroom to the Daikin three-unit multi system we installed in a house here. Sevenoaks is about 12 miles from our Dartford base. Olly surveys, gives a fixed written quote and fits it himself.
Multi-room air con for larger Sevenoaks houses
Houses in Kippington, Wildernesse and similar roads often have big gardens and several rooms that need cooling. Rather than three outdoor units on the back wall, a multi system runs two to five indoor units from one outdoor unit. Our Sevenoaks job used a Daikin three-unit multi with Madoka controls, which give each room its own simple wall controller.
Multi systems need careful sizing: the outdoor unit must match the rooms likely to run at the same time, and every pipe run has a maximum length. We work that out at the survey. More on air conditioning installation for homes.
Large houses also suit ducted systems, where the indoor unit hides in the loft or a ceiling void and only slim grilles show in each room. They are easiest to fit during a renovation, when ceilings are already open.
How much does split system installation cost?
We do not list prices, because no two Sevenoaks houses are the same. A single split costs less than a multi, and the price rises with unit size, pipe length, access for the outdoor unit and any new electrical circuit.
Brand and model matter too: a design unit such as the Daikin Emura costs more than a standard wall unit. Our guide to air con costs gives published UK ranges with sources.
The easiest way to get a firm figure is to send Olly a photo of the room and the outside wall on WhatsApp. He visits to measure up, checks the outdoor position, pipe route and electrics, and then sends a fixed written quote for your house.
Photos of the room and where the outdoor unit could go are the quickest start.

Air con in Sevenoaks conservation areas
Sevenoaks District Council has eight conservation areas in the town, including the High Street, The Vine, Hartslands, Kippington and Oakhill Road, and Wildernesse. The High Street area alone holds over a hundred listed buildings.
In a conservation area, an outdoor unit on a wall facing the road falls outside permitted development, so we plan rear or side positions. A listed house needs listed building consent as well. In practice, the bigger plots in Kippington and Wildernesse usually have a good rear position, while terraced houses in Hartslands may need a side return or a flat roof.
Shops, offices and flats in the town centre
Many central buildings are shops and offices with flats above or behind. Outdoor units here go in rear yards or on flat roofs, out of sight of the street. For a flat, the freeholder's consent comes first.
For a shop or office, we fit wall, cassette or ducted systems and service them each year. See commercial air conditioning for the options.

Really pleased with the service provided, olly and his team done an amazing job fitting an air conditioning unit into my salon. It’s nice to know I can keep my clients cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Overall 10/10 service provided, will defiantly be recommending them and thinking about having another unit installed into my home.
First class service! Ollie is very knowledgeable, provided a thorough service and deep clean of all our units and fixed a leak.
Questions
Air conditioning in Sevenoaks: questions
Can you get air con fitted in a Sevenoaks house without planning permission?
Usually, yes. Since 29 May 2025, a heat-and-cool unit on a house in England is normally permitted development if it meets the size and siting rules and passes the MCS 020(a) 37 dB(A) noise check. In the town's conservation areas a road-facing wall is excluded, and listed houses need consent. We check your address first.
How much does split system air con installation cost in Sevenoaks?
There is no single price, because the cost depends on the unit size, brand, pipe run, outdoor position and electrical work. A single bedroom split is the simplest job, while a multi system for several rooms costs more but needs only one outdoor unit. After a free survey, Olly gives you a fixed written quote, so the price does not change.
Can one outdoor unit cool several rooms?
Yes. A multi-split runs two or more indoor units from one outdoor unit, each with its own controller. For a house in Sevenoaks we fitted a Daikin three-unit multi system with Madoka controls. It keeps the outside of the house tidier than several separate units, though the outdoor unit must be sized for the rooms likely to run together.
Do you cover Riverhead, Otford and Sevenoaks Weald?
Yes. Around Sevenoaks we cover Riverhead, Kippington, Otford, Seal, Dunton Green and Sevenoaks Weald. One Sevenoaks customer wrote on Checkatrade: "The best value quote I got, very friendly and professional." Send Olly a photo on WhatsApp and he will arrange a free survey and a fixed written quote.
